2021 GOAL and Rick Perkins Award Winners Chosen for Coastal Pines Technical College

Congratulations are in order for the 2021 GOAL and Rick Perkins Award winners for Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC).

Evan Edge, a Waycross resident was selected as 2021 GOAL (Georgia’s Occupational Award of Leadership) Winner for Coastal Pines Technical College. Evan is a student in the Radiologic Technology program in Waycross and will graduate in December 2021. After graduating from CPTC, Evan is interested in furthering his education within the career of Imaging into other modalities such as MRI. Evan enjoys golfing, music, and traveling when not in college full time. He has a passion for inspiring others in his community who are recovering from substance abuse. Evan will advance to compete at regionals in April for a chance to become the Technical College System of Georgia’s overall GOAL winner for the year.

The 2021 Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year for Coastal Pines Technical College is Ivie Combs. Ivie is the Program Director and Instructor in the Practical Nursing program at Coastal Pines Technical College. Ivie has been employed with CPTC since 2016 serving in various instructional roles within the allied health department. Prior to Coastal Pines Ivie worked in the industry as an RN. Ivie Received her BSN from Georgia Southern University and is currently enrolled in a Masters of Nursing program with Aspen University. Ivie resides in Jesup, Georgia.

Regional GOAL and Rick Perkins competition will be held April 27, 2021, where College winners have the option to either attend in person in Tifton or attend virtually via WebEx. The announcement of the top 9 regional winners will be made virtually in early May and the state award judging will be held in late May. The announcement of the overall State winners for GOAL and Rick Perkins will be in June 2021.
