Brooklyhn Walker, a Diesel Equipment Technology student on the Baxley campus, has been named as the 2025 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) winner for Coastal Pines Technical College.
GOAL honors excellence in academics and leadership among the state’s technical college students and is a statewide program of the Technical College System of Georgia. Local GOAL winners are selected at each of the state’s 22 technical colleges.
Brooklyhn was nominated by her instructor, Michael Anderson. She has already accepted a job working in the field while continuing to earn her Diesel Equipment Technology diploma.
Runners-up for the GOAL title at Coastal Pines Technical College are Torrie Cothern, a Cybersecurity student, and Jennifer Kerr, a Medical Assisting student. Congratulations to these students for their efforts and willingness to represent Coastal Pines at a local and state level.
Brooklyhn will go on to represent Coastal Pines Technical College at the regional competition in February in Tifton, and later, the state competition in April in Atlanta. She will be competing against 21 of the state’s top technical college students.
