Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) recently hired and swore in a new Campus Police Chief, Ethan Johnson. Lonnie Roberts performed the swearing-in ceremony on the Waycross Campus.

Ethan began his career in law enforcement by enrolling in the criminal justice program at South Georgia Technical College. After graduation, he enrolled in the police academy at South Georgia Technical College’s campus. Upon graduation, he was employed by Georgia Southwestern State University’s Department of Public Safety for eight years. While there, Ethan served as evidence custodian, firearms instructor, and counter-sniper team leader. When the position for Campus Police Chief came open at Coastal Pines Technical College, he jumped at the opportunity. Ethan recently began pursuing his Doctorate in Public Administration Degree at Valdosta State University.

“I felt I needed to give back to the technical college system that had given me so much and started my career. In my new role I am energized to serve the students, faculty, and staff of Coastal Pines Technical College,” stated Johnson.
