Coastal Pines Technical College ASN Program Receives Full Approval

Posted on

The Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) Associate of Science Nursing (ASN) Program was awarded full program approval at the September 15, 2021 Georgia Board of Nursing Meeting. This approval comes after the College had a successful first year cohort of associate degree graduates in May 2021. The full approval status is granted through December 2031 for a 10-year time period.

The ASN Program was awarded Candidacy Status from the Accreditation Commissions for Education in Nursing (ACEN) on January 11, 2021 while continuing to work towards full approval. Previously, the Georgia Board of Nursing granted initial approval for the ASN program at Coastal Pines Technical College in November of 2018, which enabled the College to begin preparation to accept the first cohort of students.

Because of these efforts from the ASN faculty at Coastal Pines, as well as the hard work of the students, the ASN Program accepted its first cohort of students in January of 2020 and graduated those students in May of 2021.

“This accomplishment is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff. The approval of our ASN program is another indication of our commitment to provide training that strengthens and provides a needed workforce for the state of Georgia.”, stated Lonnie Roberts, President of Coastal Pines Technical College.
