On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Coastal Pines Technical College hosted the grand opening and ribbon cutting for its new Precision Machining & Manufacturing Building at the Camden Campus. This milestone event marks a significant expansion of the college's facilities and resources, aimed at enhancing educational opportunities in technical and manufacturing fields.
The celebration also featured an open house for the Camden campus, offering attendees a comprehensive tour of both the new Precision Machining & Manufacturing Building and the original Camden campus building that opened in Fall of 2020.
"We are thrilled to open the doors of our new Precision Machining & Manufacturing Building," said Lonnie Roberts, President of Coastal Pines Technical College. "This facility embodies our dedication to delivering high quality education and training to our students, and it will be instrumental in meeting the workforce needs of our community. When our original campus opened amidst the challenges of the 2020 pandemic, we couldn't host a grand opening event. Now, after just four years of growth and progress, we hope the community recognizes the exceptional services and quality education available here at Coastal Pines."
The new building is equipped with the latest in manufacturing technology, including CNC machines, a metal 3D printer, a composite 3D printer, a water jet machine, a metrology precision scanner and measuring arm, manual machining equipment, and other advanced software, ensuring that students receive practical, hands-on experience in a modern learning environment.
