Coastal Pines Technical College graduate Preston Harper is proving just how far a technical education can take you.
A native of Waycross, Harper began his journey through the Dual Enrollment program at Coastal Pines while still in high school. By the time he graduated, he had already earned his diploma in Auto Collision Repair, a credential that gave him a valuable head start on his career. During and after high school, Harper gained hands-on experience working with McVeigh’s Collision Center, a local Waycross business. That foundation of training and real-world experience opened the door for even greater opportunities.Today, Harper is employed with Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, where he has quickly risen through the ranks to become the youngest Senior Aircraft Painter at the company.
Harper credits dual enrollment with setting him on the right path. “It gets you prepared for the real world and ensures that you get a head start on knowing your path in life,” he explained.
Preston Harper’s success is a shining example of the power of technical education and the opportunities available through Coastal Pines Technical College. His story highlights how dedication, hands-on training, and the right opportunities can prepare students for rewarding careers right out of high school.
