Georgia DNR Donates to CPTC Foundation

Posted on

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recently donated to the Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) Foundation. This $25,000 donation will be used for the scholarship and endowment program that was created in January of 2022 to invest in the next generation of Georgia’s commercial fishermen.

Students who are entering into the college’s Basic Commercial Fisherman Program can qualify for financial assistance from this scholarship by the CPTC Foundation to cover expenses that are left over once financial aid has been applied.

“We appreciate the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ continued support of the college and our students. Their donation to the scholarship and endowment set up last year will allow our students to enter into our Basic Commercial Fishing program and ultimately pursue a career in commercial fishing without financial strain.”, stated Lonnie Roberts, President of Coastal Pines Technical College.
