New Dual Enrollment Courses Offered at Clinch County High

Posted on

Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) has recently had the opportunity to offer new Dual Enrollment courses at Clinch County High School (CCHS). Clinch County recently began offering Timber Harvesting Operations, Construction, Shampoo Tech, and the Nurse Aide Program through Coastal Pines by way of the Dual Enrollment program. Participating students are able to begin taking these college-level courses, and if passed, will receive college credit for those courses for no cost to the student. Coastal Pines was able to meet that desire for more CTAE offerings by delivering those courses on the CCHS campus for interested students.

Lori James, Superintendent of Clinch County Schools stated, “As a school system, we are always striving to help "Grow Clinch!". Our goal is for students to be prepared for their next step after high school - whether that is going straight into the workforce, enrolling in college, or joining the military. Through our partnership with Coastal Pines, we are able to provide even more opportunities for students to develop job-ready skills through dual enrollment courses before they graduate. Our CNA program has a history of success. With Clinch County being the #1 timber-producing county in Georgia, we believe the timber harvesting program is a perfect fit for our system. We have had great interest from leaders in the community in support of this program. We also are excited to offer the cosmetology and construction dual enrollment options for our students, as well as expanding our academic college courses that are available on our high school campus. Coastal Pines has afforded us the opportunity to expand our options for students without adding large costs to the system. It's a win-win situation!”
