The Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) Associate of Science Nursing (ASN) Program has received initial accreditation from the Accreditation Commissions for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The program will go through a reaffirmation process in 5 years based on receiving initial accreditation.
The ASN Program was awarded full program approval at the September 15, 2021, Georgia Board of Nursing Meeting. Previously, the ASN Program was awarded Candidacy Status from ACEN on January 11, 2021, while continuing to work towards full approval. Previously, the Georgia Board of Nursing granted initial approval for the ASN program at Coastal Pines Technical College in November of 2018, which enabled the College to begin preparation to accept the first cohort of students.
Since being awarded candidacy status in January 2021, the ASN program has graduated 3 cohorts of more than 85 students and future nurses. The most recent cohort of ASN graduates had their pinning ceremony on May 3, 2023, on the Jesup instructional site.
