COVID-19 Update 3/13/2020

Posted on

In light of the current health issues and concerns resulting from the coronavirus (COVID-19), Coastal Pines Technical College has made the decision to suspend face-to-face classes and activities on all campuses for two weeks starting Monday, March 16, 2020. Online classes will continue. Current plans are to resume classes on March 30, 2020.

Faculty and staff will be required to report to work during the two-week period and will begin efforts to develop online course materials to move certain classes online. The second week of class suspension will be observed as Spring Break to lessen the effects of make-up dates for the remainder of the spring semester. This means the original week of Spring Break, April 6-10, will be a normal week of classes.

While a variety of factors influenced this decision, be assured that the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff is always our primary concern. This remains a rapidly evolving situation and we know that members of our community will have questions that this announcement does not yet answer. The College’s leadership team is monitoring the situation and will continue to develop answers, adjust plans as necessary, and communicate frequently.
