Green Diamond Resource Company recently donated $35,000 to the Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) Foundation. These funds will be used to support the Forestry and Timber Harvesting programs at Coastal Pines to assist with expenses like student scholarships, programmatic supplies, fuel, as well as salary support for adjunct instructors for the Timber Harvesting program.

Tuesday, January 16, 2024, Gordon Grizzle and Steve Smith from Green Diamond Resource Company visited the Waycross campus and toured the Forestry department. Both men were given the opportunity to test out the Cat Simulator that is used to provide additional learning support to students. The simulator teaches heavy equipment operations using the same OEM controls and machine applications as found on real-world worksites.

"Support from our community partners is crucial for the success of programs such as Forestry and Timber Harvesting. With funding from organizations like Green Diamond Resource Company, Coastal Pines is able to train today's workforce.”, stated Stephanie Roberts, Executive Director of College Advancement.
