Coastal Pines Technical College has recently hired a new Respiratory Therapy Care instructor. Breanna Brown, a Jeff Davis County resident, will be teaching the program on the Waycross campus.
Breanna is a 2011 graduate from The University of Georgia with a bachelor’s in psychology. She later attended Armstrong Atlantic State University and earned her Registered Respiratory Therapist license. She has worked at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah and Coffee Regional Medical Center as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with a combined 9 years of experience.
"I have always loved working in the medical field and interacting with patients, but after working through the pandemic, my heart was being pulled in another direction regarding my career. I was able to precept our CPTC Respiratory Therapy students during my last 2 years in the hospital and found great joy in teaching them and assisting with questions they had regarding respiratory principles. I would encourage students to choose Respiratory Therapy because it is an essential role in the medical field and covers a broad range of care in both adult and pediatric patients. CPTC has felt like family ever since I arrived, and I look forward to helping produce many excellent respiratory therapists in the future!", stated Breanna.
The Respiratory Therapy program application is now open to accept students for the Fall 2023 cohort. Students can apply at www.coastalpines.edu.
