Woody Folsom Automotive Group and Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) have partnered to establish a registered apprenticeship, enhancing career opportunities in Baxley and surrounding areas. The signing event at Woody Folsom’s Baxley headquarters on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, celebrates this collaboration, aiming to provide hands-on training and real-world experience. Coastal Pines will offer apprenticeships in Automotive Technology, Automotive Service, Marketing Technology, Internet Sales and Marketing, and potentially others while blending classroom instruction with on-the-job training to equip students with essential skills.

Woody Folsom has been a longtime supporter of the college through various donations of time, equipment, and funding. Woody Folsom Automotive Group has graciously allowed employees to assist in the instruction of Automotive Classes for CPTC dual enrollment students, shared technology information and the use of some of their equipment to help prepare students for the local workforce.

“We are thankful for the great relationship we have with Woody Folsom and the establishment of this apprentice partnership. Their commitment will provide our students with the first-hand skills and experiences that are vital for success in today’s workforce and will provide their business with a pipeline of talented, skilled professionals ready to drive innovation and growth. This is another great example of the power of partnerships between academia and industry.”, stated Lonnie Roberts, President of Coastal Pines Technical College.

“We are thrilled to welcome the students of Coastal Pines to our work family. That’s exactly what we are here… a family working together for the same goal. Being a self-made entrepreneur, I am thankful for where I came from and thankful for those that helped me along the way. Now, I am grateful to get to help the next generation of car/truck enthusiasts kickstart their career! We’re excited to provide a hands-on experience to these students allowing them to work in the environment and see how the dealership runs from day to day. After all, this is the same way I got my start and wouldn’t be here today without my first dealership job taking a chance on me.”, stated Woody Folsom, Woody Folsom Automotive Group.
