OSHA 10-Hour General Industry

The 10-hour training program is primarily intended for entry level workers. Training is intended to cover an overview of the hazards a worker may encounter on a job site and emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention.

Mandatory Topics (6 Hours)

Introduction to OSHA
Walking and Working Surfaces, Including Fall Protection
Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fire Protection
Electrical
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Hazard Communication

Electives (2 Hours - at least two topics and lasting at least 1/2-hour each)

Hazardous Materials
Materials Handling
Machine Guarding
Introduction to Industrial Hygiene
Bloodborne Pathogens
Ergonomics
Safety and Health Programs
Fall Protection

Optional (2 Hours)

Teach other general industry hazards or policies and/or expand on the mandatory or elective topics. The minimum length of any topic is 1/2-hour.
