OSHA 10-Hour General Industry
The 10-hour training program is primarily intended for entry level workers. Training is intended to cover an overview of the hazards a worker may encounter on a job site and emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention.
Mandatory Topics (6 Hours)
- Introduction to OSHA
- Walking and Working Surfaces, Including Fall Protection
- Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fire Protection
- Electrical
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Hazard Communication
Electives (2 Hours - at least two topics and lasting at least 1/2-hour each)
- Hazardous Materials
- Materials Handling
- Machine Guarding
- Introduction to Industrial Hygiene
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- Ergonomics
- Safety and Health Programs
- Fall Protection
Optional (2 Hours)
- Teach other general industry hazards or policies and/or expand on the mandatory or elective topics. The minimum length of any topic is 1/2-hour.
