Students Receive Charles Eames Travel Scholarship at Coastal Pines

Posted on

On Monday, June 22, 2021, the Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) Foundation hosted the Charles Eames Travel Fund Scholarship Luncheon on the College's Jesup Campus. This semester, the Foundation recognized eleven students who were chosen to receive a scholarship. Through the generous support of Mr. Eames, the Foundation was able to award over $1,800 in funds to these deserving students.

“The CPTC Foundation is truly thankful for the support of friends such as Mr. Charles Eames. The Travel Scholarship is a huge help to the students who especially attend clinics and labs and need extra assistance with those type expenses” stated Stephanie Roberts, Director of Institutional Advancement.

In late 2013, Mr. Charles Eames established the first two Charles Eames Travel Funds, one with the James M. Dye Foundation at South Georgia State College (SGSC) and the other with the Okefenokee Technical College (OTC) Foundation, now Coastal Pines Technical College Foundation. The purpose of the funds was the same as it is now, to assist students with the everyday costs of traveling to campuses for classes and clinical rotations. Mr. Eames continues to fund the Foundation Scholarship each semester as he sees the great need for students to graduate and enter the workforce.
