TSAP Pre-Apprenticeship Program

A Program that is approved by the Technical College System of Georgia that possesses an approved plan containing all terms and conditions for the qualification, recruitment, selection, and employment and training of pre-apprentices, including matters such as the requirement for a written pre-apprenticeship agreement.

Pre-Apprentice Eligibility

Pre Apprentices tied to funding awards must meet the following criteria:

• Individuals must be at least 15 years of age, except where a higher minimum age standard is otherwise set by law;
• Employed to learn an occupation AND;
• Enrolled in a public-school work-based learning program AND;
• Actively pursuing a technical college certificate from a TCSG institution AND;
• Pre Apprenticeship Program must support transition into a Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP).

TSAP and PSAP Funding Awards

• Pre-Apprentice-TCSG will issue to the employer a one-time payment of $2,500.00per Pre-apprentice.
• Registered Apprentice-TCSG will issue to the employer an initial payment of$2,500.00 per apprentice. A final payment of $2,500.00 per apprentice will be issued to the employer after twelve (12) months of enrollment in the RAP. (This include pre-apprentice that have enrolled into a RAP.)
