Transfer Students

Coastal Pines Technical College welcomes students who have previosly attended other colleges or universities. If you have ever attempted college courses at another institution, you are considered a transfer student and would need to complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the application for admission and pay the $25 non-refundable application fee.
  2. Submit an official copy of your high school or GED transcript. Transfer applicants who submit an official transcript from a regionally accredited college or university that shows one of the following will not be required to submit their high school transcript:
    • Completion of associate degree or higher
    • Successful completion of 12 semester or 18 quarter credit hours of coursework
    • Successful completion of degree-level Math and English course
  3. Submit official post-secondary transcripts from all colleges if applicable.
  4. Submit lawful presence and proof of residency to qualify for in-state tuition. View the list of acceptable documents (link 1) to learn more.
Lawful Presence statement:
Any student who cannot be verified as lawfully present in the United States is not eligible to be considered for in-state tuition, regardless of how long he or she has lived in Georgia. In addition to being lawfully present in the United States, students must meet the in-state tuition requirements as outlined in TCSG Board Policy and Procedure V.B.3 to warrant an in-state classification. Students that are initially classified as out-of-state and successfully petition to have their residency changed to in-state also have to meet the verification requirement.

Helpful Hints
A transcript is official if it is delivered to Coastal Pines (by mail or in person) in the same sealed envelope it was placed in by the issuing institution. Transcripts cannot be accepted directly from students. Transcripts can also be sent using an approved, secure electronic transcript sending service. Approved electronic transcript sending services can send official secure transcripts to admissions@coastalpines.edu.

Students who attended high school or college outside the United States are required to have transcripts evaluated and translated by an approved evaluation agency. Below are links to approved agencies’ websites: www.jsilny.com www.wes.org/ www.lisano-intl.com/
